Manila, April 23 -- Ilonggos are encouraged to observe conservation measures to reduce energy consumption amid a surge in electricity demand during the summer months that could result in higher bills.
More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) on Wednesday urged consumers to use energy-efficient appliances and fans instead of air conditioners, adjust the thermostat of air conditioners, turn off lights and electronics when not in use, and keep windows and blinds closed during the hottest parts of the day to prevent heat from entering their homes.
"By implementing these simple energy-saving tips, consumers can help reduce their electricity bills and contribute to a more sustainable energy future," the power firm said.
