Manila, Dec. 12 -- Members of the Iloilo hotels, resorts and restaurants association are leveling up their food offering by ensuring that they will soon be able to serve halal food.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Happy Abenir, spokesperson of the Iloilo Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association (IHRRA), said their members have participated in the training for halal food provided by the science, tourism, and agriculture departments.

"We encourage (our members) and we are actively participating because some of our members are already considering it because it has certain requirements," Abenir said.

The IHRAA sits as co-chair of the Ilonggo Food Festival, one of the events for the 2020 Dinagyang Festival.
