Manila, July 19 -- Iloilo will hold a synchronized cleanup drive against dengue in schools across the province on July 27, Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said Thursday.

Dr. Miguel Mac Aposin, Iloilo Schools Division Superintendent, had met with the governor this week and proposed the action.

"We have met with the Department of Education and we plan to bring back the Brigada Kontra Dengue that will happen on the last Saturday of July," Defensor said.

The activity, dubbed "Brigada Kontra Dengue", will involve parents, village officials, the alumni of schools, and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), among other stakeholders.
