Manila, Nov. 15 -- A Japanese tunnel located within the compound of the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) is being eyed as an additional tourist attraction in this highly urbanized city.

"It looks like a deep well but actually it is a tunnel. We wanted to revive that tunnel," said Dr. Raul Muyong, in an interview Thursday on the sidelines of the Strengthening Philippine Higher Education through HEDF (Higher Education Development Fund) Projects here.

Muyong said a proposal was already submitted to the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) for an initial PHP10 million to cover the first phase of the proposed revival project.

The tunnel crosses from the old campus of the university to its new campus leading to a river.
