Manila, Oct. 31 -- The provincial police of Ilocos Norte on Friday assured those visiting or returning home to the province during the long Undas (All Saints' and All Souls Days) weekend of their safety.

"We would like to assure the public that your manong and manang pulis have been working diligently to uphold peace and security," Col. Joemar Labiano, provincial director of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO), said in an interview.

Citing the report that INPPO presented to Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos on Thursday, Labiano noted that the number of crime incidents reported in the province from January to October this year went down to 542 from 732 during the same period last year.
