Manila, Feb. 28 -- The International Labor Organization (ILO) has commended the Philippine government for its strong commitment to protecting and supporting overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
During a visit to the OFW Hospital in Pampanga on Thursday, ILO-Geneva Assistant Director-General Manuela Tomei expressed admiration for the country's culture of service, calling it exceptional compared to other nations.
She was accompanied by Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.
"I have not seen this culture of service in many countries I have visited," she said, noting that such should not be taken for granted as it establishes a strong foundation of support.
