Manila, Oct. 14 -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a Japanese national and two Filipinos who threatened and extorted money from two other Japanese nationals over an aborted business deal.

In a statement, the NBI - Cavite North District Office (NBI-CAVIDO North) said it arrested Akira Machida, along with Glenn Huerto and Christopher Maramang, in an entrapment operation in Manila on Oct. 1.

Machida was the subject of a complaint filed by two Japanese nationals, including a contractor.
