Manila, July 9 -- Senator Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday said she remains committed to standing firm as an independent voice in the Senate, as questions mount over the future of the chamber's minority bloc ahead of the 20th Congress.

Speaking to reporters after filing cases against Michael Maurilio and six vloggers at the Department of Justice Prosecution Service, Hontiveros acknowledged the possibility that she may end up as the Senate's sole minority member, but said she remains unfazed.

"Hindi ko pa sigurado kung mag-iisa ako o hindi. Pero kung anuman, basta maninindigan ako (I'm not sure yet if I'll be alone or not. But whatever happens, I will stand firm)," she said.
