MANILA, March 5 -- Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros announced Wednesday that she will nominate Senate Minority Leader Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III to serve as a member of the Commission on Appointments (CA) when Congress resumes session on June 2.
Pimentel, a former Senate president and the current minority leader, brings extensive legislative experience to the constitutional body, Hontiveros said in a statement.
"Senator Pimentel has the experience to ensure that only the most qualified individuals are appointed to key government positions," she said.
"With him continuing the Minority's representation, we trust that the CA will remain fair, accountable, and transparent," she added.
