Manila, July 31 -- Senator Risa Hontiveros on Thursday called for an immediate Senate investigation into allegedly unfair water joint venture agreements (JVAs) involving local water districts and private concessionaires, saying it aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call to improve water service and exact accountability.

Speaking at the Kapihan sa Senado forum, Hontiveros said she refiled Senate Resolution No. 16 to examine Commission on Audit (COA) findings on disadvantageous provisions in JVAs entered into by public water utilities with private firms, including PrimeWater, Manila Water, and Metro Pacific Water.
