Manila, March 27 -- Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros on Thursday called on the international community to take coordinated action against transnational criminal networks operating scam hubs in Southeast Asia.

This is after she personally welcomed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday several Filipinos who fell victims to human trafficking in Myanmar.

"The Philippine government cannot do this alone. Governments and international bodies must collectively work together to keep our citizens safe," Hontiveros said in a news release.
