Manila, Nov. 4 -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Tuesday led a regional call to strengthen trust and unity among social security institutions across Southeast Asia, as its President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso assumed chairship of the ASEAN Social Security Association (ASSA).

Delivering his keynote address at the 42nd ASSA Board Meeting held in Brunei, Veloso urged his counterparts to act as "master architects of trust" in shaping social protection systems that are transparent, accountable and built on integrity.

"In the world of social security, trust is our currency. It is the invisible foundation upon which every contribution, every claim, and every policy rests," he said.
