Manila, Jan. 24 -- he Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continues to carry out pursuit, clearing and security operations in Lanao del Sur following an ambush that killed four soldiers on Jan. 23.

In a statement on Saturday, the AFP vowed to intensify actions to neutralize the perpetrators of the "treacherous" attack.

"As operations continue, AFP units are intensifying focused actions to locate and neutralize the perpetrators, prevent further threats to civilians, and ensure the safety and stability of the affected communities," it said.

"The AFP remains resolute in holding those responsible accountable and sustaining operations until peace and security are restored."
