Manila, Feb. 4 -- The government has allocated PHP300 million to fix the transmission lines obstructing the Bicol International Airport's (BIA) runway.

Half of the amount will come from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the other half from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), CAAP information officer Bea Bernardo said Wednesday.

"The runway is about 2.5 km., and this is currently limited for use of small aircraft because of the obstruction," Bernardo said in a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview.

According to reports, the DOTr and CAAP signed a memorandum of agreement with the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines to address the issue of transmission lines that limit runway operations.
