MANILA, Nov. 28 -- The German Embassy in Manila on Friday denied Moscow's claim that it is issuing visas to Filipinos allegedly recruited by certain entities to fight for Ukraine in the ongoing war.

The Russian news agency TASS, in a Nov. 27 report, quoted Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova as saying that representatives of an American security company have "launched a campaign in the Philippines to recruit local citizens" for the Ukrainian army.

Zakharova further alleged that recruits who sign contracts "are issued a Schengen work visa at the consular section of the German embassy in Manila" and are listed as employed by "Berlin-based private security companies."
