Manila, Oct. 28 -- The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) on Tuesday said efforts are now underway to de-escalate tensions in Tipo-Tipo town, Basilan, following a series of clashes linked to "rido" or clan feud.
"Our local peace mechanisms are actively engaged and providing full support to the security sector and the local government to ensure the swift de-escalation of the conflict," OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said in a statement.
He added that they are closely monitoring the situation.
