Manila, Dec. 24 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) confiscated loose firearms and ammunition during an operation in Occidental Mindoro that also led to the arrest of a man who turned out to be wanted for five criminal cases.

In a statement on Wednesday, PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said joint forces from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Philippine Army, and Philippine Coast Guard discovered various firearms while implementing a search warrant in Sitio Pamikalan, Barangay San Vicente in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro on Dec. 22.
