Manila, May 15 -- The Food and Terminal Inc. (FTI) and the National Food Authority (NFA) on Thursday assured that efforts are in place to resolve "logistics hiccups" for the expansion of the PHP20 per kilogram rice program in the country.

The program, dubbed "Benteng Bigas Meron Na," is being rolled out in 32 Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) Centers and stalls in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The rollout in Luzon started on May 13 after the Department of Agriculture (DA) adhered to the assistance ban 10 days before the May 12 midterm elections.

The pilot rollout of the P20/kg rice program was held in Cebu on May 1.
