Manila, March 14 -- Former president Rodrigo R. Duterte has reported that he is "generally fine" after undergoing a medical check-up in The Netherlands ahead of his first appearance before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Friday.

In a statement on Friday morning, the Philippine Embassy in The Netherlands said Duterte reached out to the embassy past 3 p.m. (Central European time) and conveyed that he had received medical care.

"During the call, the former president conveyed, among others, that he underwent medical check-up and has received medical care and that he is generally fine," it said.
