Manila, Jan. 30 -- The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported lower cases of influenza-like illnesses and dengue nationwide from Jan. 1 to 18.

In a message to reporters, DOH Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Albert Domingo said a total of 5,789 cases of ILI have been recorded in the country as of Jan. 18 -- 54 percent lower compared to the 12,620 in the same period in 2024.

Only one death was recorded, which is 96 percent lower compared to the 26 logged for the same period in 2024.

The top six causative agents are Influenza A, Influenza B, rhinovirus, enterovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, and adenovirus, the DOH said.
