Manila, July 28 -- The first batch of Filipino caregivers to Israel have been dispatched by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) on Tuesday night.

POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia said the 48 workers arrived at the host country on Wednesday.

There are still 355 caregivers that will depart for Israel in the coming weeks.

"The deployment is in accordance with the existing bilateral labor agreement between the Philippines and Israel in 2018, which provides strengthened protection and employment opportunities to Filipino caregivers," Olalia said in a statement.
