Manila, Sept. 25 -- Families affected by the series of severe weather disturbances have climbed to 224,549 as of Thursday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said the 224,549 families, equivalent to 915,827 persons, were from the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Central Luzon, National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
As of Thursday afternoon, there were 7,438 families taking temporary shelter in 373 evacuation centers while 8,019 others were taking refuge in other places.
