Manila, Oct. 22 -- The number of families affected by the Oct. 10 twin earthquakes that rocked Manay, Davao Oriental has reached 362,789, with 10 fatalities being validated, according to the latest government tally on Wednesday.

The affected families are equivalent to 1,511,854 persons residing in 705 barangays in the Davao and Caraga regions, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest report.

All the reported fatalities are from the Davao region, while the 176 people who were reported injured are from Davao and Caraga, the NDRRMC added.

The twin quakes - with magnitudes 7.4 and 6.8 - also damaged 24,413 houses and destroyed 1,190 others.
