Manila, April 15 -- Fair weather and isolated rain showers will prevail over most parts of the country while five areas expected to see scorching temperatures due to a danger level heat index.

Heat index or what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air, will peak at 43 C in Sangley Point, Cavite; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Virac, Catanduanes, Dumangas, Iloilo and La Granja in La Carlota, Negros Occidental, said weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez during the 5 a.m. bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Under danger level or 42 C to 51 C heat indices, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely.
