Manila, Dec. 26 -- Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Nicolas Torre III on Friday took oath as the new general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto administered the oath at his office at Malacanan Palace, according to a video shared to Palace reporters by the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES).
Torre's appointment was announced last week, a few months after he was removed as PNP chief for refusing to comply with a National Police Commission order to reverse the reassignment of senior police officials.
