MANILA, May 31 -- The Philippines is set to welcome the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President (HRVP) of the European Commission Kaja Kallas for her official visit from June 1 to 2.

In a statement Saturday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said this is the first visit of the European Union (EU) diplomat following her appointment in December.

"The visit marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the European Union, highlighting the shared commitment to open political dialogue and enhanced cooperation in pursuit of peace, stability, and sustainable development," it said.
