Manila, Dec. 12 -- Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada on Friday said he filed a measure seeking to regulate parking fees nationwide, introduce standardized rates, and prohibit establishments from evading liability for damage or loss.

Estrada's Senate Bill 1001, or the Parking Fee Regulation Act, aims to protect consumers from excessive parking charges while ensuring accountability among malls, commercial establishments, institutions, and private parking operators.

The measure encourages free parking for customers and mandates transparency in pricing and receipts.
