Manila, March 26 -- Senate President Francis Escudero on Wednesday said the Senate is confident it can defend the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) before the Supreme Court (SC) amid petitions questioning alleged budget irregularities.

During the Kapihan sa Manila Bay briefing, Escudero said he believes the SC is not inclined to interfere with Congress's power in budgeting, pointing out that the Bicameral conference committee acted within its delegated authority.
