Manila, July 3 -- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 (Eastern Visayas) turned over on Thursday 200 units of push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) radios to all police stations in the region.
PRO-8 Director Brig. Gen. Jay Cumigad said the turnover of additional communication equipment aims to boost the relay of information among police operating units in the region.
"The lack of communication equipment is one of the barriers to the timely response of our police officers. This is going to be a continuing procurement based on the needs until such a time that all patrollers are fully equipped with radios," Cumigad said.
