Manila, June 12 -- The Regional Development Council (RDC) passed a resolution requesting the Office of the President to immediately release PHP1.17 billion in funds for the rehabilitation of San Juanico Bridge this year.

RDC infrastructure committee chair Edgar Tabacon, also the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional director, said a copy of the resolution was handed to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the Chief Executive's visit to the San Juanico Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

The resolution of the region's highest policy-making body approved on June 10, seeks the allocation of immediate funding to the DPWH regional for the strengthening and restoration of the San Juanico Bridge to its 33-ton load capacity.
