MANILA, Nov. 22 -- Employees in Eastern Visayas, including domestic workers, are set to benefit from new wage increases next month following the issuance of updated Wage Orders by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced Saturday.
Under Wage Order RB VIII-25, private sector workers will receive a PHP35 increase, to be implemented in two tranches.
The first tranche, amounting to PHP17, will begin on Dec. 8, and the remaining PHP18 will be on June 1, 2026.
Once fully implemented, the new daily minimum wage will be PHP470 for non-agriculture and service/retail establishments with more than 10 workers, up from PHP435.
