TACLOBAN CITY, Oct. 14 -- Eastern Visayas recorded a 0.4-percent inflation rate (IR) in September 2025, slightly up from August's rate of 0.2 percent, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Tuesday.
The September 2025 uptrend was primarily brought by the slower annual decline of the heavily weighted food and non-alcoholic beverages at 0.1 percent from 0.5 percent in August 2025.
Last month's 13.3-percent food inflation, up compared to 4.2 percent in August 2025, was primarily influenced by the faster inflation rate of vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses, the PSA said.
