Manila, March 11 -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 1 (Ilocos Region) has facilitated the refund of about PHP6.7 million to consumers who have encountered problems with services and products they purchased in 2024.
DTI-1 Consumer Protection Division chief Robert Baniqued, during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum on Tuesday, said most of the complaints reported to the agency were overpriced beauty products and services, non-honoring of persons with disabilities (PWDs) discounts, and defective products.
For beauty services alone, DTI refunded about PHP600,000 to seven complainants.
