Manila, Feb. 13 -- An officer of the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Protective Services Bureau (PSB) has called on the public to adhere to the Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act and immediately report such violations to law enforcement agencies.
In a news forum on Thursday, Social Welfare Officer 3 Carol Nuyda underscored the urgency of addressing incidents involving violence against women and children.
Despite strengthened efforts to stop VAWC, she noted that one in four women experiences abuse from their significant other, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
