Manila, Feb. 11 -- LEGAZPI CITY - The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) has provided over PHP9.72 million in family food packs (FFPs) to families affected by the continuous rains caused by the shear line in Sorsogon province.

In a report released on Tuesday, DSWD-5 Regional Director Norman Laurio said over 13,000 families from 39 barangays in Sorsogon City received assistance on Feb. 9 and 10.

Laurio said the relief distribution aims to offer immediate support, particularly addressing the food needs of families whose livelihoods have been severely impacted by the prolonged heavy rains and flooding associated with the ongoing effects of the shear line in the region.
