Manila, Oct. 11 -- Nearly PHP200 million worth of humanitarian assistance was initially provided to the more than 280,000 families in Davao Oriental and Cebu, who were affected by earthquakes that shook the provinces in the past few days, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD) said on Saturday.

Based on data provided by the DSWD, as of 6 a.m. on Oct. 11, a total of PHP218,498,609 worth of assistance has been extended to 203,493 families (1,081,028 individuals) in Manay, Davao Oriental and Bogo City, Cebu.
