Manila, Jan. 20 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is preparing for the expansion of the "Tara, Basa!" (Let's Read) Tutoring Program (TBTP) and coordinating with local government units (LGUs) and other partner agencies to engage more beneficiaries in 2026.

The tutoring program, launched in August 2023, will be expanded to urban communities, such as Mandaluyong City where 440 beneficiaries will be part of the program this year.

Preparations for the city's participation were discussed during an exploratory meeting at Mandaluyong City Hall on Jan. 13.
