Manila, Nov. 8 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Saturday its frontline offices are now on full alert and ready to release augmentation support to any local government unit (LGU) in the direct path of Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong).
Assistant Secretary Leo Quintilla of the Disaster Response Management Group said the DSWD has more than 2.04 million boxes of family food packs (FFPs) prepositioned in various hubs, spokes, and last-mile warehouses across the country.
Quintilla, concurrent officer in charge of the DSWD's National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau, said the agency's disaster response teams are also on full alert and will closely monitor updates on the potential super typhoon....
