DAVAO CITY, Feb. 16 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Davao Region (DSWD-11) distributed 307,291 family food packs (FFPs) valued at PHP215.1 million in 2025, an official said Monday.
Lennon Remotigue, head of the Disaster Response and Management Division, said DSWD-11 also delivered 10,059 non-food items worth PHP18 million to displaced families in evacuation centers, including family, sleeping, and kitchen kits.
Currently, 90,901 family food packs are prepositioned at warehouses in Panacan and Bago Oshiro, Davao City.
Remotigue said local government units serve as first responders during disasters, with DSWD providing augmentation support when local resources are depleted.
