MANILA, Nov. 28 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is eyeing a crash course on social work for reporters covering the agency through the newly-renovated DSWD Academy located in Taguig City.

The initiative came up during the DSWD Media Forum on Thursday where Assistant Secretary Janet Armas of the Department's Regulatory Services and Institutional Development Group (RSIDG) was the host panel guest.

When Armas was asked about the possibility of mainstream media members enrolling in an introductory course on social work, she replied that the proposal was a great idea and that it may become one of the DSWD Academy's priorities next year.
