Manila, April 4 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Bicol provided over PHP7 million in financial and immediate assistance to almost 500 fire-affected families across the region in the first quarter of 2025.
In a media release on Friday, DSWD Regional Director Norman Laurio said the PHP7.65 million aid extended to 474 fire-hit families during the first three months of the year came in cash and in kind.
"Relief efforts included the distribution of family food packs (FFPs), non-food items such as hygiene kits, and psychosocial support, particularly for children and senior citizens," it said.
