MANILA, July 4 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways - South Manila District Engineering Office (DPWH-SMDEO) has recently started the construction of a drainage system to minimize flooding at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila.

In a social media post on Friday, the DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) reported that the project worth PHP39 million is now 15 percent complete and the "remaining works are being done until December 2025."

"Once completed, the 560-linear meter project is expected to significantly reduce flooding issues in the area,' the post added.
