Manila, Feb. 13 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking infrastructure projects in La Union to benefit residents and tourists, Secretary Vince Dizon said Friday.

Speaking at the Usapang Budget Natin forum, Dizon said the push to accelerate projects and boost tourism in the Ilocos Region follows the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..

"That's what the President really wants to happen," he said.

Ongoing projects include the Bauang-San Fernando-San Juan Bypass Road and the Naguilian-Bagulin-Kapangan Road, both targeted for completion in 2027.

Construction of the Rosario Bypass Road and the TPLEX Extension is also being expedited, Dizon said.
