Manila, Nov. 5 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is ready to provide necessary assistance to expedite recovery efforts in areas severely affected by Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi) in the province of Cebu.
Secretary Vince Dizon said the agency will deploy heavy equipment and personnel for clearing and declogging operations in flooded areas.
"The President said, whatever is needed, give it to the mayors. We will provide everything. I told them that everything [equipment] that is here in Cebu is at their disposal," he said in a statement Thursday.
"No matter what district, as long as what is needed, they just ask and the DPWH will provide it," Dizon said.
