TACLOBAN CITY, Dec. 18 -- Authorities have allowed trucks weighing up to 30 tons to cross the San Juanico Bridge during nighttime hours starting Wednesday.
In a public advisory issued by the Department of Public Works and Highways, the agency said 30-ton trucks and other heavy vehicles are permitted to cross the bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on a one-way-at-a-time basis as part of traffic and safety management measures.
The advisory also announced the postponement of the previously scheduled dry run for a daytime crossing, which was set for Dec. 18. Authorities said the postponement is intended to allow further consultation.
