MANILA, Dec. 2 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the city government of San Juan will conduct a joint inspection on Wednesday of the voluntary clearing of Informal Settler Families (ISFs) in San Venancio St., Barangay San Perfecto, to mitigate flooding in the area.
In a statement, the DPWH said that Secretary Vince Dizon, with Mayor Francis Zamora, will assess the voluntary clearing of eight residential structures built directly on top of a major drainage line along the street in the village, which is one of the city's most flood-prone areas.
The clearing operation is scheduled at 7:30 a.m., near the San Perfecto Elementary School.
