Manila, Dec. 24 -- Private sector workers in Metro Manila will be receiving 200 percent or double pay of their salaries for the day on Dec. 25, Christmas Day.

In Labor Advisory No. 17 signed by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, employees who will report for work on Thursday, declared as regular holiday, are entitled to get paid twice their salaries for the said day.

"For work done during the regular holiday, the employer shall pay a total of 200 percent of the employee's wage for that day for the first eight hours (basic wage x 200 percent)," it said.
