Manila, March 21 -- Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon called on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation to waive the toll fees for motorists affected by Wednesday's collision of an oversized truck with a bridge.

In a radio interview on Friday over Radyo Pilipinas, Dizon said toll fees should be waived for motorists passing through the northbound side of the Balintawak to Marilao segment of NLEX while bridge repairs are underway.

"Maliit na pakonswelo lang ito sa abalang dinaranas ng mga motorista't pasahero (This is just a small consolation for the inconvenience experienced by motorists and passengers)," he said.

Dizon also asked NLEX to allocate additional lanes to address vehicular congestion.
