MANILA, Nov. 26 -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Wednesday said that industry insights from the private sector will largely guide how it spends the PHP1-billion promotions budget approved by the Senate.
The Senate version of the 2026 national budget reinstated PHP1 billion for tourism promotions after two years of major cuts.
With the restored allocation, the DOT said it will shift to a "people-driven, industry-informed promotions approach," and that its spending will be shaped by private sector priorities.
