Manila, March 27 -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has secured PHP12 million funds for the implementation of Project Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry (SARAi) in Eastern Visayas within two years.

Through this project, DOST aims to introduce more smart technologies in local communities, featuring systems that analyze sensor data on temperature, rainfall, fertilizer application, and other agricultural parameters.

DOST assistant regional director Marilyn Radam said the allocation from the DOST central office is just an initial allocation to support the project this and next year.
